Finishing up the first 8 days. How is is going? What is transpiring?
For me I have limited my materials to paper, glue and scissors.
I may need to expand the list at a later date, for now it is interesting.
Send photos of your table tops, studio spaces and materials list.

100 days
Artists ask me, "What should I do...everyday for 100 days?" It really doesn't matter.
What matters is that for about 10 minutes during your day you are focused on your commitment. Things will evolve, ideas will emerge and this exercise will allow you to develop a creative habit. It will spill out into your art work. The beauty of this project is you can start it anytime. Share your progress or just a quick note. So far there are about 6 of us out there starting now. Join us. This is a great practice.

The power of 100: Taking Flight Series
During the autumn and winter of 2008-2009 I started a 100 day project: Taking Flight; with the single theme of birds. The goal was to draw and cut out a bird a day and then hang it up. Some days I did one, some days I did five. The first few days were interesting, but it wasn’t until the 3rd week that the number of birds on the walls of my house started to be substantial, 10 birds, 20 ----then there were 50! At about the half way point, I started to do birds in different shapes and patterns. After 100 birds, I began doing bird tags, and bird drawings. Some of the drawings incorporated the cutout birds and others were pastel designs with birds drawn inside. This series holds significant value for me. At the core of these drawings is habitual art; the evolution of rituals and patterns, created from art as a daily exercise.
100 day project.
You can tell by the previous posting that I fell way behind... and yesterday, I received the following comment from a fellow artist under the catagory: Deadlines:
"i'm way behind. on several art projects, personal projects, and life in general. deadlines usually help me focus, but lately - they merely increase the pressure. i've no idea how to move forward anymore."
The inviation changes... I still want comments and feedback. This time I want to challenge everyone to start a 100 day project. Everyday for the next 100 days start the morning with one creative, simple task; draw your coffee mug, cut out a flower, glue some paper together, whatever. And then hang them up in your house. The idea is to get into the creative brain. It will be amazing. After a week you will have seven, two weeks, 14 and so on. This project takes on a life of it's own. It is a powerful testimony to the creative habit.
Are you in or are you out?
Send photos and comments. I will post them.
